You would be driven from Leh to Lamayuru in the morning.
You would be driven from Leh to Lamayuru in the morning. The journey would take you along the Indus and the Sham Valley. Once in the Lamayuru monastery, your backpacks would be packed and you would embark on the first day of adventure. You would be following a tiny stream before climbing to the Prinkti La Pass that is above 3,700 meters.
Then, you would be entering the Shilla village and then reach the Wanla campsite. Here, you can spend the rest of the day enjoying the sun or by checking the monastery
You would follow a sandy road to get to Phenjilla village at around 3,400 meters and the dispersed village, Ursi. Then, you would be walking into a constricted gorge before reaching a Rangthak or a flourmill. Your trek would then pass through Hinju Village. Overnight in Camp.
The climb would slowly take you to Kongskil La, from where you can enjoy some glimpses of the world famous Stok and Karakoram.Here, you would be making a steep descent along with some free moraine that can make it difficult to hold onto the ground.
Next day would begin with some short walks and crossing the river several times. You would reach the main part of the Sumda Chenmo village. Heading to the left of the valley, you would get a glimpse of the beautiful village that features lush green belts.Once in the campsite, you can also get a stunning view of Konskila.
The last day of trek would be a simple climb for Dungdung Chan La, which is around 4,800 meters high. Your trail would slowly descend into the ridge that takes you to the valley. It would steadily taper before you reach the Chilling village. Once in Chilling, you would be driven along the Zanskar river for around 3 hours. The journey would take you to the Zanskar and Indus confluence so that you can make it easily back to Leh. Overnight at Leh.
